RINI AMIRA: November 2014

Hello assalamualaikum y’all. (Y’all lah sangat I don’t even have followers though haha). Right now I feel like throwback throwback lah aha. Well, sekarang pun memang zaman orang suka throwback pun kan?? *krik krik*

If you have read my post before this, I wrote about how I started playing netball. So I think it's not necessary for me to write again about it. So, yeah.

Ok so back then at my school, which is Maktab Rendah Sains Mara Lenggong, Perak, I played netball and volleyball. In netball game, I played as shooter (for those who maybe don’t know). I have two netball teams. (“Waitttt how come you can have two netball teams? Are you that hot until everybody wants you to play with their team?????”)

Lol lol lol. Hell yeah I’ve two teams. One team was when I was in lower form. And the other one was when I was in upper form. Can you differ that?

I had been studying in that particular school since I was form 1, until form 5. I didn’t even get the chance to enter PKP lah. “PKP tu pobondo lak ai?”. PKP (Program Khas Pendidikan), is the MRSMs listed to be having a high chance in getting top 10 rank in SPM. Such as Tun Ghaffar Baba, Taiping, Pengkalan Chepa, Langkawi, Pontian and etc (you can find out more about this pkp thingy). I got 8A’s for PMR, but then I tak ada rezeki nak masuk mrsm tu lah :) sokay sokay hekhek.

Back to the story, I have two teams. Okay wait let me introduce you to my netball lower form teammates.

Husna. She played centre. As well as captain of the team. She's great hekhek

Ummi sarah. Usually she played wing attack.

Hanis. But we call her as Nani. wing defend.

Izzati. Goal Defend.

Nur Dhania. She always plays goalkeeper. Well, that’s not weird ‘cause she’s tall.

This is Amira Natasya. She’s a junior of mine. A year after me. Goal Defend.

Miera azwar. Shooter of my team. Shifted with me as Goal Attack and Goal Shooter.

Haa my very first game with them was when peringkat zon lenggong kat sekolah menengah mana entah. We got second place there. Lost with the host haha. I think that was when I was form 3. After that game, we played at SUPER (Kejohanan Sukan dan Permainan) peringkat MRSM Zon Barat. We played at MRSM Kuala Kubu Bharu (KKB). And, of course, we got allowance for that hahahah. (In that super I played volleyball too. I played two games though).

Here, I can personally say that we played quite good. But then, luck was not with us. We got third place. During the grouping (I think we were in Group A), we lost to MRSM Kota Kinabalu. We won to other MRSMs. We only lost to koki (koki is shortform for kota kinabalu). So because we only lost to koki but won with the others, we got number two in that group. In league, to advance to the semi-final, the team that got number one in Group A will be playing number two of Group B, and number two of Group A will be playing number one of Group B.

My team got number two of Group A, so we played with number one of Group B, which was the host. MRSM KKB. Well, kalau main dengan tuan rumah ni, psycho sikit tau. Sebab semua student dia turun padang sokong team maktab dpa. At first we were leading, after a while, we played like pfft. And the score margin started to differ wider. Pehh apa lagi budak budak maktab tu boo boo kitorang lah. It was quite annoying lah haha. We ended up lost the game to kkb.

On the other side, koki was playing MRSM Kuala Klawang (KK). At last, kk won the game. And there was no game to determine the team that will get third place. Who lost during the semi-final will automatically announced as third place. Thus, there was two teams lah that got third place. Koki and my team. And for the final, kk lost to kkb. Kkb got first place and kk got second place.

My maktab, only got to win three games. Netball and sepak takraw, both got third place. And the other one was badminton, second place.

Vrooomm vroom!

Hello hello assalamualaikum. How’s your day today? Is everything fine? *snooping eyes*

Today, I feel like telling a story about our very first astronaut lah.

Is there anybody who doesn't know who he is?

Well his name is Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor Al-Masrie bin Sheikh Mustapha. Was born on July 27, 1972. Two years younger than my mama. Aha. And also, he is an orthopedist.

If you ever attempt to ask me, “kau ni minat sangat ke kat dia ni wei rini?” I’ll proudly answer, YESSSSSS!

He is my inspiration. Hello I even read everything about him okayyy. From tonnes of newspapers, google sources, magazines, as well as book he wrote. Not to mention, also the book written by his late brother, ‘Reaching for The Stars’.

FYI (if you don’t know), he was launched to the space on Oct 10, 2007. I was standard 5 at that particular year. 7 years ago wehhh haha. He was launched from Baikonour, Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan with two other astronauts (or they call it cosmonaut in Russia), Yuri Malenchenko (Russia) and Peggy Whitson (America). Haaa since his departure, untillll he came back to the Earth, I read newspaper every day. I repeat EVERY DAY. I rarely read newspaper but then because of him I read. I read newspapers because I wanna keep up to date about him though. I wonder what he does there, how he sleeps, what he eats, haa.

If I’m not mistaken, he went to International Space Station (ISS) in Ramadhan, 3 days before Syawal. So, you can imagine how we (Muslims in Earth) were quite busy for the preparation of the eid. You know what, Dr. Muszaphar brought lemang, ketupat, rendang and those raya stuffs to the space haha. But all of the food had been re-packaged by MARDI, which will be suitable on the non-gravitational area.

Then on the eid day, just same like other people, I went back to my ‘kampung’. What I’ve read from the paper, the rocket that he boarded on was Soyuz TMA-11. This rocket orbited on the space for three days, because it couldn’t manage to combine with ISS yet. Well, you know right there is no gravitational force on space, so that’s why it was hard for Soyuz to dock with ISS. (The right term for it is not combine, but dock. Ehehe). After three days, Soyuz managed to dock with ISS.

And because at that time was eid season, so my family and I were busy visiting our relatives, I didn’t have the time to read newspapers. I cried. I swear that I was really really sad at that time. (Weh rini kau nangis? Biar betul … ) Yes, seriously I did. I rarely cry you know aha. Don’t laugh at me laaaa.

When he was at space, he was doing an experiment of crystallization of some bacteria which I can’t really remember. (Ok jap meh aku try korek kepala otak aku). I think the name of the bacteria is helicobater lipase. I think though, I can’t be sure about it. I don’t want to google it later you’ll say tak aci pulok. This experiment was done as an alternative to search for cancer treatment. I just know that, I don’t know about it in detail.

Then he came back to Earth 10 days after that. To be precise, on Oct 21, 2007 with two other crews, Fyodor Yurchikin and Oleg Kotov. Soyuz undock with ISS. Dr. Muszaphar said that when the capsule was entering the atmosphere of the Earth, they were facing with 9G force. I don’t know exactly what 9G force is, but what I know about it is, the force is too strong that they can’t breathe by using normal breathing. They can’t breathe using mouth and nose, because if they do so, their blood capillaries will explode (or burst, the proper word used in biology. *sigh*). Our blood capillaries are not able to withstand such high pressure. How did they breathe then?! *two hands on the cheeks*. Wait wait cool man. They breathed by using abdomen. Abdomen is stomach lahh. Dr. Muszaphar had learned this back then when he and Dr. Faiz Khaleed were having training at Russia for two years.

But then, a brother of his was admitted in ICU when he was still on space. From what I’ve read on newspaper, a signboard from a restaurant was fallen onto his brother’s head. He died a few days after that accident. The time Dr. Muszaphar reached Earth, not even his parents were informed about this because his other siblings don’t want to make them worry, plus, they don’t want to ruin their parents’ happiness seeing him returned from space safely. And when his parents were told about this, they were reluctant to tell him because he was very close with his brother, they afraid that Dr. Muszaphar couldn’t accept the fact that his brother has gone. But still, they told him about this when he was quarantined. Who even doesn’t sad wehh when we got the thing we want, but at the same time we lose something else. He then quickly book a flight ticket to Malaysia. When he reached home, they had buried his brother.

Actually, before this, I got sbp. Sekolah Menengah Sains Kuala Selangor, shortform for it is kusess (Kuala Selangor Science School). But I only stayed for a week though haha. Because I got mrsm, yayyyy. I really really, badly, want mrsm, ever since I was in standard 5, ever since I knew Dr. Muszaphar is an ex-mrsm student. He was in MRSM Muar before. I even wanted to apply for MRSM Muar when filling in the MARA form hahah. But my mama didn’t allow me to do so, yeah of course lahh because I stay at puchong, why do I have to go until johor kannn. (Actually I don't even mind of being separated far from my family but yeah, a mother won't let us go *wink wink*).

Zzzzz see, even sbp I rejected hahah. I wanna be a doctor, and I wanna be an astronaut too. I believe Malaysia boleh! ^^

Haaa balik balik maktab tu, kecoh wehh semua orang tahu aku nombor satu merentas desa. Terbangga sekejap la jugak hahaha Astaghfirullah astaghfirullahhh.

Okay nak dipendekkan ceritanya, since aku merentas desa nombor satu tu lah aku dah start wakil wakil maktab ni semua. Cikgu Salmi tu dia cikgu netball. Dia ajak aku main netball sebab stamina aku tinggi. Pastu dia tanya la, aku ni pernah main netball tak? Main pos apa? Aku jawab la shooter. Pastu dia suruh aku main dengan team tu. Try tengok aku main. Pastu dia tengok tu, dia kata shooting aku sharp. Haa. Tapi dia kata tak ada teknik. Dia then ajar aku teknik shot yang betul. And aku pun get improved day by day by using the technique that she taught me haa.

And aku pun jadi player tetap untuk maktab aku. Aku pergi SUPER (Kejohanan Sukan dan Permainan Peringkat MRSM Zon Barat), pergi main daerah, pergi negeri. Banyak menang jugak la dengan team ni. Cikgu Salmi is such a good coach. Sebab dia pun dulu main netball (wehh of course lah cikgu sukan kottt, mesti la main netball) and anddddd dulu dia wakil Malaysia untuk handball kat Asean Games. Team dia dapat nombor dua time tu *clapcap*

Untuk team maktab aku tu, aku main as goal attack, or kadang kadang goal shooter lah. Dua dua position ni shooter sebenarnya, yang bezanya adalah, GS ni dia tunggu bawah tiang gol untuk shoot, yang GA ni pulak ambik bola from centre pass and hantar kat GS, alternate la dengan GS untuk shoot.

And aku pun keep on main sampai form 5, and sampai aku masuk nottingham ni. Aku nak apa aku pernah buat kat maktab dulu, aku buat jugak dekat nottingham ni. Aku jenis yang main sport, so aku nak buat jugak kat sini. Aku nak kekalkan apa aku buat, aku nak kekalkan my passion. Hewhew. Actually kat sini aku masuk volleyball jugak, sebab kat maktab dulu aku main bola tampar jugak, (eh hellloo kitorang dapat nombor 2 kat super okay jangan main main apa kau ingat aku main netball je tak main benda lain??). Yes aku kat maktab dulu sangat aktif. I repeat, SANGAT. Kau tak caya ke tu oi? Aku tayang sijil aku semua kang haaaaaa. Tapi kalau nak cerita balik, memang lenguh tangan ahh.

And alhamdulillah aku dapat main untuk Nations Cup Nottingham ni. Im glad to be part of the team. Kau ingat senang nak main untuk notts ni? (Notts tu shortform Nottingham).

Ini team England. Aku minat GA dia tu. Shooting dia lawa.

Sebenarnya, kalau nak aku jujur, aku bukan gemar mana pun main netball ni, sebab macam feminin sangat. Tapi aku tak mau la main ragbi tu macam ganaih sangat woihh. Volleyball tu macam ok laa, sebab dia macam sesuai laki and perempuan, sapa pun boleh main. Aha. Lagipun, bila main volley ni kan, kau kalau dapat spike tu memang lega ah, sebab umpama macam kau lepaskan semua tension tension kau dekat bola tu. Memang lega tahap pehhh la lepas tu.

Tapi masalahnya, aku ni main netball je paling aku terer pun. Main volley kureng sikit. So kalau aku nak tunjuk belang pun bila main netball lah, kang memandai mandai tunjuk belang dalam volley kang jadi pelik pulak kan (mohon tampar berjemaah). Haha tak lah, aku takut ada banyak sangat komitmen. So aku decide untuk main satu sport je. Dulu time kat maktab dulu sebab aku main banyak sangat, dengan netball, dengan volleyball, dengan silatnya dengan olahraganya, banyak clash wei. Apa function masuk banyak banyak kalau satu pun aku tak pro. Baik aku fokus satu, and try pro kat situ. Kan? Kan kan kan?

Pengajarannya, yang aku dapat daripada cerita aku ni, adalah, apa yang kau buat hari ni, menentukan macam mana hari kau esok. Kalau kau still tak buat apa apa hari ni, esok pun tak ada apa apa lah. And, setiap apa yang jadi itu ada sebabnya.

Contoh macam yang aku menang meretas desa time miggu aktiviti tu kan, bagi aku tu adalah penyebab, batu locatan yang menyebabkan aku pergi meretas desa daerah, yang menyebabkan aku sampai kat mana aku sekarang. Kalau bukan sebab aku menang time tu, aku tak tahu kat mana aku sekarang, mungkin bukan macam aku sekarang ni, mungkin aku tak dapat apa yang aku dapat sebelum ni.

And untuk contoh yang apa kita buat hari ni tentukan hari esok tu pulak, bagi aku time yang aku jogging keliling maktab tu. Kalau aku tak buat latihan tu, mungkin aku tak dapat nombor satu, and cikgu salmi akan ingat aku punya stamina tak kuat, and aku takkan main netball mahupun sukan lain. Aku pun takkan tahu main netball dengan betul, aku akan jadi orang yang bukan siapa aku sekarang.

For every step that you take, must be accompanied with passion and determination. Kalau salah satu daripada elemen ni tak ada, you wont make it.

Today i feel like telling story about netball lah. Aherherher.

Ini namanya goal post. Tiang gol lah

So, macam mana aku boleh main netball ni? Bila first time aku main? Position apa aku ambik?

Hmm, kalau nak cerita bila first time aku main, time darjah 6 la. After upsr. Lepas upsr kan tak buat apa kan, so cikgu buat la tournament antara kitorang. Haa kat situ, aku main GS, which is the shortform of goal shooter. Haa kiranya function aku ni kena masukkan bola dalam gol lah. Tapi time tu, boleh dikira hebat jugak la aku sebab semua bola yang aku golkan semua masuk, sharp pulak tu. Even time tu aku tak shoot guna teknik yang betul. Main redah je apa cara pun. Aha.

Haa so kat situ aku dapat basic movement in netball game. Tak boleh stepping, tak boleh obstructing, tak boleh overcourt, and ada lagi lah.

Aku ni jenis kurang ayu sikit, so bagi aku macam, netball ni feminin sangat ah. Touch sikit bunyi wisel, terlanggar sikit bunyi wisel. Zzzz it is game bebb, kalau tak luka bukan game la nama dia aihh.

Pastu aku masuk mrsm time form 1. Time form 1 aku tak pernah wakil maktab pun. Wakil maktab tu maksudnya, kau wakil sekolah lah, pergi main sukan ke, debat ke debate ke, presentation ke etc etc. (FYI, semua mrsm guna term "wakil maktab" ni tau). And kadang kadang ada jugak orang salah faham bila aku cakap maktab tu dpa ingat aku budak sekolah agama hekhek. Nak sebut mrsm tu panjang sangat, M-R-S-M. Ada empat syllable, so sebut la maktab, ada dua syllable je, Mak-Tab.

Back to the topic, aku time form 1 form 2 aku tak wakil maktab pun. Yelah, masih freshie lagi kennn, so mana nak tahu sangat. Saaaaaampai lah ada satu minggu ni, namanya Minggu Aktiviti Sem 2. Time tu aku umur 14 tahun, yes form 2, zaman masih muda. Kalau kat mrsm, ada satu minggu ni kitorang tak belajar tau, ada aktiviti je, seminggu tu lah penuh dengan aktiviti je haa. Semua mrsm tau macam ni. Sebab kitorang guna sistem yang sama haa. Haa time minggu aktiviti ni, ada satu hari ni kitorang kena merentas desa tau. Semua la wajib. Aku pun join je lahhhh.

Pastu time meretas desa tu, kitorang kena lalu hutan apa entah nama dia. Which is lebih kurang dalam 6 -8 km la jugak. Pastu aku pun lari je lahh. Lari lari, pastu aku rasa macam aku dah jauh daripada orang belakang. Maksudnya aku dah lebih jauh ke depan la haa. Pastu aku pun keep on la lari. Last last aku dapat nombor 2, ada sorang minah ni haa potong aku pastu dia dapat nombor 1. Ish kacau je hmm

Haa sejak tu, cikgu sukan kat maktab tu macam dah nampak dah aku. Aku pun sebenarnya langsung tak expect dapat hadiah wei. Sebab aku tak riadah langsung sebelum tu haha. Tup tup dapat hadiah, nombor dua pulak tu. Uish.

Kelip kelip mata, masuk la tahun 2011. Aku dah jadi form 3.Yeahhh. Time awal tahun tu, ada kejohanan merentas desa peringkat daerah tau. Alaaa semua negeri mesti ada kenn lawan lawan daerah ni haa. Lepas tu cikgu sukan aku, nama dia Cikgu Salmi, dia letak la nama aku dalam borang meretas desa tu. And ada la atlet lain jugak yang cikgu masukkan. Sejak tu, aku turun la jogging petang petang keliling maktab tu hehe, buat pertama kalinyaa.

Tiba la hari untuk meretas desa. Ni lawan kat MRSM Pengkalan Hulu. Kalau korang ada baca post aku before ni, yang aku cerita pasal silat tu, pun aku lawan kat mrsm ni jugak. Entah lah. Dah berapa kali entah aku pergi maktab tu. Haa sambung cerita, time turn kategori aku untuk dilepaskan, aku cuak jugak la, dah la first time bebb wakil maktab. MY VERY FIRST TIME. Like seriously??

Ok then pistol pun ditembak. Pong! Aku pun start la berlari lari. Semua berebut kat depan weh. Aku lek lek dulu. Lari punya lari lama lama aku rasa satu satu aku potong. Again, aku kat paling depan! Time tu aku teruskan lari. Teruskan teruskan dan teruskan. Bila dah jauh tu, aku tak nampak pun participants yang sama kategori dengan aku. Aku nampak budak kategori lain je. Time tu aku macam dah confident sikit. Aku yakin aku boleh dapat nombor satu kali ni.

Tapi aku teruskan je lari aku. Sebab aku takut kang tiba tiba ada yang potong aku. Penat sehh merentas desa. Sumpah! Kau lari berapa kilometer wei meretas desa, bukan sprint 100m, bukan sprint 200m, tapi lari more than 5km! Kering jugak la tekak aku time tu. Nasib baik depa ada bagi air time tengah tengah jalan tu. Hydrated la aku balik.

Dalam route aku tu, kena pusing ladang getah, pastu masuk balik mrsm tu. Aku dah jauh tu, last last aku nampak pintu gerbang maktab tu. Hati aku membesar. Aku penat, tapi aku gagahkan jugak kaki aku untuk teruskan langkah. (Pehh ayat akuuu haha)

Bila aku dah sampai betul betul depan pintu gerbang tu kan, aku dengar cikgu Salmi aku tu jerit jerit nama aku. "Rini! Cepat habiskan lari, kamu nombor satu!!" Hahh dengar dengar macam tu tiba tiba kaki aku terasa ringan pulak wehh. Aku rasa macam aku lari pecut pergi kat finishing line tu. Hilang rasa penat bila cikgu cakap macam tu.

Lepas tu, aku akhirnya sampai kat garisan penamat. And aku dapat nombor satu! Weii nak melompat lompat je aku time tuuu. Kau bayangkan, first time wakil maktab kot, kau dapat terus nombor satu, siapa tak seronok weh.

Awww, terharu aku. Time tu la cikgu Salmi betul betul pandang aku.

Ada 30 orang kitorang ni, termasuk aku. Dulu, nama nama ni macam aku tak ingat sangat. Tapi sekarang aku sedar, yang aku sayang dpa ni semua sebab dpa la paling rapat dengan aku kat bumi Nottingham ni (yeahh walaupun tak pernah cerita rahsia pun kat dpa tapi still, dpa la yang paling aku banyak cakap pun).

Dua orang dah keluar dari sini, Idzni dengan Haziq. Dpa sambung belajar A Level kat Kolej Teknologi Timur Sepang, "Nak sambung dentistry", kata mereka. Hilang sudah dua orang family angkat aku kat sini. Diorang dua ni terbang pergi India nanti.

By the way, permulaan persahabatan kitorang ni sangat comel. Haha. Aku boleh kata comel la, sebab kitorang semua start kenal kat fb, tak pernah jumpa, cuma dimasukkan dalam group fb atas nama 'Awesome UNIM 96'. Ceritanya, kitorang ni semua ex MRSM, kitorang semua masuk Nottingham ni guna result trial SPM MARA, haa nama program ni SPC (Skim Pelajar Cemerlang which is i dont agree sebab aku tak cemerlang pun haihh).

Haaa so nak dekat sebulan jugak la kitorang berkomunikasi through fb, tanya itu ini pasal borang macam macam, macam mana nak isi tu macam mana nak isi ni sapa rumet aku sapa rumet kau haa gitu le lebih kurang. Then, 10 Februari 2014, kitorang semua daftar kat University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus as Pre-Foundation students.

Pre-Foundation, aku tak pernah tahu pun pasal benda ni before ni. Yang aku tahu, aku masuk uni ni untuk belajar, tu je lah. Then bila first class kitorang, aku dapat tahu yang kitorang ni belajar English dulu dalam masa sebulan, then baru masuk foundation sem 1.

And masa tu aku sedar la jugak kekurangan spc aku ni, supposedly spc has to be fast track, tapi aku punya program ni bukan. Sebab kitorang kena tunggu sebulan pastu baru belajar foundation, then tunggu july intake masuk pulak, then sambung belajar sama sama time bulan 9. "Lambat la aku degree kalau macam tu," desis hati aku.

Waktu pre foundation tu, aku macam bosan la jugak, sebab belajar benda English yang aku dah tahu. Belajar grammar, writing, listening, yang benda baru aku belajar pun critical thinking. Tapi, haa aku teruskan je la kan belajar pre foundation ni. Lagipun program pre foundation ni macam just ada untuk budak budak under sponsorhip MARA je haa.

Lepas tu masuk la bulan 4, april intake pun masuk jugak. Mostly budak budak april intake ni private, which means that dpa ni bayar sendiri. Senang cerita orang kaya la haaa payah ngat aihh nak kias kias ni aku terus terang je.

Haa lepas tu, dekat 10 minggu foundation sem 1, kitorang fnal exam, and cuti raya and cuti sem 2 bulan woohoo. Eh jap jap aku nak tunjuk gambar aku dengan budak MARA 30 ketul ni.

Yang duduk tu Haziq. Yang haziq ni jugak la pindah ktt tu.

Haa kan aku ada cakap kan yang kitorang dapat cuti dua bulan kan, time cuti dua bulan tu, aku macam tak tahu nak buat apa. Aku dapat result elok, tapi aku tak apply pun scholarship lain, dah la scholarship lain tu boleh fly obersi terus. Aku ni? Twinning je haihh. Lambat laei eyy nak poei uk nyaa.

Haa dah lama lama, aku asyik rasa menyesal je dengan program spc aku. Aku tahu la aku yang isi borang spc, aku yang mintak nottingham, cuma aku menyesal sebab tak tengok betul betul kat draft cikgu bagi tu yang sebenarnya nottingham ni ada pre foundation (yang melambatkan fast track aku). Tapi aku rasa, kalau aku perasan pun pasal pre foundation tu, aku tak tahu pun function dia apa. Which is actually functionless.

Hari demi hari, aku menyesal. Tapi, satu hari ni aku terfikir, yang kalau aku tak ada program Pre Foundation ni, kalau aku tak join spc ni, kalau aku tak join program yang cuma ada untuk kitorang 30 orang ni, mesti aku tak akan rapat dengan dpa dpa ni semua, mesti aku macam culture shock, mesti aku astray from the right path. Nauzubillah.

Hari tu jugak aku istighfar banyak kali jugak la. Sebab before ni aku dok asyik rasa menyesal je. Asyik cari kekurangan je, aku tak pernah cari kebaikan dalam spc aku ni. I only look for the dark side, I dont even notice the bright side. Bila aku dah sedar tu, aku rasa beruntung sangat, rasa beruntung ada 'family' macam dpa ni. Haha :)

Aku tak tahu la dpa akan baca entry ni ke tak kan, tapi, hewhew (sebabkan nak cakap aku sayang korang face to face agak segan, so aku cakap sini je lah ahaaa), aku sayang korang lah, jangan tinggalkan aku tau. Nanti insyaAllah kita berjaya sama sama :)
